H A R M O N Y C L U B

Harmony Club of Abilene was organized in 1936 and Federated in 1937. The object of this organization is the study of music and its correlated subjects and to promote community interest in the arts, particularly music. Our members have vocations or avocations in the field of music and have an opportunity to perform regularly and support music in the Abilene community.
¥As a part of the national federation, Harmony Club selects a ÒCourse of StudyÓ each year, plans various programs that include opera, folk, sacred, international and American music.
¥Locally, Harmony Club offers scholarships to music students to attend summer music camps and encourage the study of private music instruction. The scholarship application is available here. Right click to download.
¥Harmony Club sponsors a Junior Club, which allows junior members to participate in a composition contest and a Junior Music Festival.
Friends of Music is another very important part of membership in Harmony Club. Friends of Music if open to anyone who wishes to support the Club through financial and or material donations.
Instrument Donation Program has helped the Club support music in Abilene in the public schools as well as private. Donations of any instrument are accepted by any member and will be evaluated and repaired as needed by the Club and then donated to the schools or private sector. Social 9:30 am; Program 9:45 am (check for exceptions)
September through May except for January.
Active, Associate, Friends of Music, and Honorary are the four categories of membership.\
Harmony Club of Abilene is affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs
and Texas Federation of Music Clubs (District VIII)
